At Athletic Republic Cary, we’ve worked with a lot of dedicated student athletes over the years. But right now, we’re especially proud to support two high-level cricketers, Utkarsh Srivastava and Ritvik Appidi, as they prepare for the next Cricket World Cup.

These athletes are bringing serious intensity to their training, both on and off the field. While they each have different roles and stories, they share the same drive and commitment. They’re putting in the work with our team to build speed, power, and long-lasting performance.

Utkarsh Srivastava

Utkarsh has been playing cricket since before he started school. A right-handed top-order batsman and off-spin bowler, he’s been competing in national tournaments since he was 11, working his way through the USA U-19 pathway.

Earlier this year, he served as vice-captain of the USA team at the U-19 World Cup in South Africa, where he also led the team in runs. Not long after, he made his debut with the USA Men’s National Team and put up 67 runs in a standout match against Scotland.

Here at AR Cary, Utkarsh trains several times a week with Coach Abbey, focusing on short-burst sprints, change of direction work, and the kind of endurance that matters for a batsman who needs to stay sharp for long innings. His lifting sessions are centered around building strength and power, with contrast training added as he gets closer to competition. The goal is to keep him strong, fast, and healthy so he can compete at his best.

Ritvik Appidi

Ritvik picked up cricket at age 10, and his rise has been steady ever since. He made the South Zone team through the U-15 trials, then ranked in the Top 10 at U-19 Nationals. One of his biggest moments came in a warm-up game against Mi New York, a Major League Cricket team.

In that match, he took five wickets, including dismissing Dewald Brevis and the USA Senior Team captain.

Ritvik works closely with Coach James in personal training sessions that are dialed in to match his needs as a bowling all-rounder. His workouts include cricket-specific speed development, strength training, and scenario-based practice to simulate pressure situations. It’s all designed to make sure he’s prepared, physically and mentally, when game day comes.

Training Like a Pro

Both of these athletes train with the kind of focus you don’t see every day. They’ve earned their success through years of hard work, and now they’re pushing to take it even further. We’re proud to be part of that process.

Whether you’re an aspiring athlete looking to level up, or a parent searching for the right training environment for your student, Athletic Republic Cary offers programs that are built to get real results. Come see what it looks like when science-based training meets individual focus.
